Parents sometimes do crazy stuff when it concerns their baby (including waging war on other parents though ;-)
Parents sometimes do heart breaking decisions when it concerns their baby (including leaving to work abroad;-)
Parents sometimes do insane diplomatic relationships when it concerns their baby (including giving gift to their weird teachers even if they really don't like them because teacher might do someting else to their baby while in school;-)
But whatever parents do sometimes...most of the time it is always WORTH the trouble and the sacrifice.
